Happy Wednesday!  I'm excited to be playing along with one of the special features over at the Ink to Paper blog called the Great Cover-Up!

I have a serious love affair with all things rainbow!  It just makes me so very happy!  It's also fun to play around with the different color shades to create different versions.  This brighter version is definitely my favorite.

Ok, real talk here.  I almost always get a smudge or something on my creation.  I even keep baby wipes right on top of my desk within arms reach.  How I can manage this so often is a real conundrum.  Because of this, I have gotten very skilled at coming up with ways to fix or cover up my mistakes!  This particular background was one that I created during this past release.  I actually couldn't make it work for my original project so I added it to my partially created stash to use later.

Thankfully my inky thumb smudge was in a great place to add some leaves or flowers.  I ended up die cutting a few leaves from the Into the Blooms die set in colors to match the background.

The sentiment is from the To Die For Sentiments: Grow die.  I die cut it three times and adhered them together.  This really helps to add stability, especially when it is only adhered to the edges of a frame like I did here.

I added in a few flowers (also from the Into the Blooms die set) to dress up the leaves a bit more.  The frame I have the sentiment adhered to is from the Border Bling: Skinny Vees Frame.  It's a bit hard to see in the photo, but I added some clear glitter to the bottom part of the frame.

Ink to Paper April Release - Day 4

Hey there!  Welcome to the fourth and final day of the April Ink to Paper sneak peeks!  All of the new products that have been shared over the past several days will be available for purchase tomorrow, April 15th at 10 pm ET.

Ok, I have to tell you how much I am loving the new Blooming Thoughts stamp set!  It's the perfect mix of elegant, whimsical, traditional, and modern.  I mean seriously, it can fit into almost any style!  ❤️💗

For the background, I stamped the new Weaved background stamp using Bright Buttercup ink.  I'll admit, this is not the yellow that I normally reach for but I am loving it for this card!  I wanted to add a bit more depth so I sponged on some Harvest Gold ink on the bottom half.

I layered all three flower sprigs along the diagonal tear of the background layer.  For embellishment, I sprinkled on a few small epoxy hearts.

 

My next card also features the new Blooming Thoughts set.  I knew that I wanted to do a colorblock style card but just wasn't feeling the traditional cardstock technique for this.  I decided to reach for some paint and create the colorblock look that way.




So after I created this I added it to the small pile of projects to photograph that I had on my desk.  My husband came over and I noticed him looking at it so I asked him what he thought.  He kind of hesitated and then said, "Well, it's sort of earthy." Ummm, I'm pretty sure that is hubby speak for "It's not my fave."  😂   I'm not sure I would classify as a bright purple as earthy, but I could be wrong.  LOL!  Regardless, I like how it turned out! 

This card base turned out to be a bit larger to accommodate the design, measuring 4" x 6".

 

My final project is actually a little card gift set.  I created three simple cards and packaged them up with some envelopes.

Using the middle sized die from the Love to Layer: Scalloped Circle die set I created an inlaid die look. 

It's hard to see in these photos, but I lightly stamped the Weaved background stamp on the top Kraft background layer.  I then splattered on a bit of white paint for some added depth.

Each card features the same design but with different colors and blossom sprigs.

So what do you think of this release?  There's a little of something for everyone!  :-)

Ink to Paper April Release - Day 3

Hi there!  Welcome to day three of the April Ink to Paper sneak peeks! 

Are you ready to see more new goodies?  I especially love the products being shared today.  They are as unique as they are lovely!

 

My card features the new Cover Plate: Scenic Path die and Inside Greetings: Steps stamp set.  I love how this sentiment set can be encouraging in so many different occasions (graduation, new job/location, new life choices, etc.).

I decided to do a little paper piecing with some patterned paper from my stash.  I wanted an overall soft look so I chose soft, pastel colors.

The sentiment is from the new Inside Greetings: Steps set.  I accented the sentiment by adding some stamped and die cut flowers (from the Bold Blooms set).

I embellished with some mini wooden butterflies.

Ink to Paper April Release - Day 2

Welcome back to the second day of the April release Ink to Paper sneak peeks!  We're just a few short days away from the release!  Today it's all about the guys!  We are sharing projects created with the new Dad's Timestamp set, Inside Greetings: Thanks Dad stamp set, The Mug die, and To Die For Sentiments: 24x7 Dad die set.

M first card features The Mug and To Die For Sentiments: 24x7 Dad dies. 

For the background, I used the Rustic Brick Background stamp and lightly (I sponged the ink on so it wouldn't have full coverage) stamped it using Weathervane ink.

The sentiment is from the new Dad's Time stamp set.

 

My second card features the new Dad's Time stamp set.  This little BBQ image is just too cute for words...that might have something to do with me choosing to use it three times for my focal image.  LOL!

I added in some small cardstock circles to add a pop of color to the otherwise neutral card scheme.

For embellishment, I sprinkled on a few wooden stars.

Ink to Paper April Release - Day 1

Happy Sunday to you!  Can you believe it's April already?  I'm pretty sure that life has been going at warp speed lately.  :-)

Today is the first day of the April Ink to Paper sneak peeks!  We're just a few short days away from the release!  Today we are sharing projects created with the new Feathered Friends Mini 10, Weaved background, and Seas of Life stamp sets.

 

I absolutely adore nautical images!  That's funny, I know, because we live in a very non-nautical themed area!  I mean, rural Western Montana is probably the opposite of sea themed area but my heart still loves the sea! 

My card features the brand new Seas of Life and Weaved background stamp sets.  I also used the previously released His stamp set, Banner Builder: Basics die set, and Love to Layer: Scalloped Circle die set.

I kept my embellishments minimal and more masculine themed.  As much as I love the images in this set, I think the sentiments are what really sold me on this set!  I love them! 

Thankfully, I have family that leaves pretty close to Pacific Coast!  Here's a photo of my daughter last fall taken during a break from some medical appointments.  She shares my love of the sea!  ❤️

 

My next card features the new Feathered Friends Mini 10 stamp set and matching die.  This set is perfect for breaking out the fun, bright colors!  I mean, how can you not be happy when you see his sweet smiling face?  ☺️

For the background, I started by stenciling on some diamonds and then did a bit of ink blending.

 

The flowers are from the previously released Into the Blooms die set and the frame is from the Border Bling: Embossed Skinny Frame die set.

Isn't that sentiment just about perfect?  There are so many people that I would love to send this to!  :-)
