Papertrey Ink Favorites Challenge - Petal Box Duo

It's Win It Wednesday time over on the Papertrey Ink blog!  There is another favorites challenge along with a contest and giveaway...so many different chances to win!

This week the focus is on your favorite Papertrey Ink stand alone die (or dies)!  Just by playing along, you will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate!

 

This week is all about packaging!  The challenge this week is to create something using one of Papertrey's packaging dies or ready made items (like boxes and bags).  You can find all the ready made packaging items HERE. 

 

For my project I used the Petal Box die set to create two little gifties.  I LOVE making and giving little gifts which is why I love having both ready made items at hand as well as a variety of packaging dies to chose from.  You don't have to spend a lot of money on a gift to make someone feel special and appreciated!  Some fun chapstick, mini chocolates, handmade jewelry, or some other small trinket make a perfect gift especially wrapped up in pretty packaging.

 

I decorated each box by stenciling the main box as well as stamping on some flowers.  I decorated the tags using the Forest Floor: Summer stamp set.  Ever since I first laid eyes on that set, I have been in love with this strawberry!  I know this set is designed for summer, but honestly strawberries are too pretty to be limited to just one season!  :-)

Here's a look at the main kit...

SO much goodness!  I mean, this kit is absolutely MASSIVE! 

And there is a even a Trimmings Kit, which is full of gorgeous embellishments!    Each and every piece is so well thought out and in my opinion just to much fun not to have!  :-)

 

I have four projects to share with you today...

 

My first card features stamps, dies, and one of the big scene stencils from the main kit.  There just isn't words adequate enough to describe how much I love this kit!  These florals are just stunning! 
 

To create the background, I sponged one of the big scene stencils using Fine Linen ink onto white cardstock.  I layered a bit of vellum on top of the sponged background and added some fine glitter along the edges.

Here you can see the dimension I added by popping up a couple of the flowers as well as the banner.  I embellished with one of the Clear Wheat Sprays and Rose from the Trimmings Kit.

 

My next project is a mini cloche.  Can you believe this kit?  I mean, it doesn't get much better than a mini cloche!!!  I had so much fun putting this together!   And with all the fun 3D dies included in this kit, there are endless possibilities to dress these up!



Did I already mention how much fun this was to put together?  Betsy really does think of everything!  That deer!!!!

I took the cloche top off so that I could take some better photos.  You just had to see this deer in action!  I doubled up on each of the layers so that it would be just a bit sturdier and easier to glue to the bottom.

 

Those trees.  Love, love, love them!  I wanted them to look frosty so I added some white embossing powder to parts to mimic snow.

Here's a look at the other side of the cloche.  This 3D truck!  SOOO cute!  How fun would they be filled up with some mints and placed at each place setting to dress up your Holiday table?!!

 

 

 

 

I couldn't help myself!  I just had to create another card!  This card utilizes one of the printed ovals that is included in the Wonderland patterned paper pack.

For the background, I lightly sponged some Vintage Jadeite ink onto the white background layer.  I then stamped the rose image in the same ink.  Finally, I splattered on some gray and white in

 

I embellished with a strip of coordinating patterned paper as well as some of the Birch Curling ribbon.

 

Last, I have a sweet little burlap gift bag, all wrapped up with a tag and festive embellishments!  The bag itself is from the Make It Market: Wonderland Trimmings Kit.

The printed tags make dressing up any gift so incredibly quick and easy!  I just added a clothespin, mini white tinsel, a rose, and a couple of Clear Wheat Sprays for embellishment.

More September Release - Day 2

Welcome to the first day of inspiration posts featuring the brand new September Papertrey Ink release! There are so many amazing products just released, and for five days the design team will be sharing a lot of inspiration featuring the new items! 

 Today I'm sharing cards created with the new Gift Card Cozy Collection.

 

I'm so excited about the new Gift Card Cozy Collection!  Lizzie has designed a whole set of products that are perfect on their own but also are amazing together!  The Gift Card Cozy Die is one of my favorites as I give a lot of gift cards for gifts.  I also think this is the perfect size to package up little lunchbox notes to tuck into my kids' bags!

I stamped the "ribbon" images from the Gift Card Cozy Sentiments stamp set.  I also added a stamped and die cut wreath (from the new Berry Wreath stamps and dies). 

I stamped and decorated the backs of the gift card holders using the Berry Wreath and Ways to Say: Just For You stamp sets.  I embellished with a button from the Holiday Mix Vintage Button Collection.

Papertrey Ink September Release Countdown: Cutaway Tags: Winter

This is one of Papertrey Ink's releases that I anticipate and look forward to the most each year!  Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday to create cards and gifts for, and every year Papertrey completely surpasses my expectations with their Holiday release! 

Today I'm sharing three projects created with the new Cutaway Tags: Winter stamp set and coordinating die.  My favorite kind of product is something that can be used for different applications, and this one can be used as tags, packaging accents, or used on cards!

There is something so lovely about white layered on white and truly makes for a lovely holiday card!  I started by die cutting the Cutaway Tags: Winter die from watercolor paper and quickly adding some watercolor paint to the leaves and blooms.  I embossed the sentiment using black detail embossing powder. 

 

For the background, I started by sponging on some Hawaiian Shores ink.  I then ran it through my die machine using the small  middle border from the Mix & Mat: Berry Boughs die set.  I then ran it through again with the largest leafy border, this time embossing it instead of cutting.

 

For the final touch, I added some fine, white glitter to the circle border of the die cut tag.  It is a subtle touch that adds some sparkle without being overwhelming.

 

My next project features the just the Cutaway Tags: Winter stamp set.  I love that these stamps can be used both with or without the coordinating die! 

 

I created a faux watercolor look by first adding a wash using some of the Green Parakeet ink refill and water.  Then, while the paper was still wet I stamped the leaves.  I didn't want to muddy the green wash but adding some red so I used Christmas Red Stickles to add the red berries.  The striped paper is from the new Bitty Big: Pure Poppy patterned paper.

For the sentiment, I die cut the banner from the new Wine Bottle Tag #2 die set from Green Parakeet cardstock and then embossed one of the sentiments from the Cutaway Tags: Winter stamp set.

 

 

My next project shows how the die can be used to create simple but stunning tags that can be added to packages or gift bags!  I just love how this die looks when die cut from dark cardstock!  The little details around the circle as well as in the leaves really pops on the darker colors!

 

I found that the new Berry Wreath Tag die fits perfectly behind the Cutaway Tags: Winter (and probably the Spring and Summer ones as well) and makes adding string or ribbon to the tag a piece of cake!

Again, I die cut the banner from the Wine Bottle Tag #2 die set and then stamped one of the sentiments on top.  I also die cut the main wine bottle tag from a piece of Bitty Big: Pinefeather and trimmed the top off.  I layered it under my tag and then added a piece of burlap ribbon on top.  For embellishment, I added a poinsettia flower and clothespin from my stash.

Shaker Gift Tags

Hi there friends!  Today I'm sharing a couple of gift packaging ideas using the new Shaped Shaker Tag Kit from Queen & Co!

I love tags!!  They are perfect for turning ordinary gift bags or boxes into something personalized and special!  They also work amazingly well as a focal image on a card!  The only thing that could make tags better is turning them into shaker tags!

I created an Autumn themed gift, using patterned paper from the Pretty Presents Paper Pad and some Yellow Sparkle String.  To fill the shaker, I added some toppings from the Pearlies Matte Topping set and Tiny Bubbles Topping set.

 

 

My next tag is Halloween Themed, and perfect for adding to a quick gift bag!  I started with the largest shaker tag shape from the Shaker Tag Kit.  I filled it with toppings from the Fimo Fun Topping Set and Tiny Bubbles Topping Set.  I backed the tag with patterned paper from the Stripes Paper Pad.  I embellished the tag with twine from the Twine Assortment and bling from the Purple Donuts pack.
