Hi there! How is your weekend going? Ours is flying by!! LOL! I realize that I've been a little absent lately...sorry about that! Not only have we been busy spending time with family but I've also spent some time reorganizing all my patterned paper! Now, that might not seem like a huge undertaking to you...but let me assure you it WAS!! I have no idea how I have accumulated SO MUCH paper but I sure did! Not only have I purged...but I have reorganized it! I actually shouldn't say "RE-organize" because it never really was organized to begin with. (((grin)))
Sooo...enough babbling! Before I share pictures of my newly organized paper I will share with you some cards I made yesterday! You see, I've found tons of fun stuff in my cleaning "binge" and I was so inspired by it that I just had to sit down and stamp! :-)
Isn't that paper SO pretty? Sigh... Funny thing though, when I first got it (quite a while a go) I wasn't too crazy about it. You know, things always look different online..and this paper was no exception. It just wasn't what I had pictured. Well, fast forward to this weekend and I actually swooned when I saw it! Isn't it funny how our tastes change? :-)
For my pink card I used some of the before mentioned K & Co. patterned paper that I "unearthed" in my paper pile (teeheheeheee) combined with the Very Vintage Labels no. 2 stamp set (Waltzingmouse Stamps) and one of the sentiments from the Rescue Remedies Additions set (also from Waltzingmouse Stamps). For embellishments, I added a Prima, some ribbon and lace, and a few rhinestones.
For my blue card, I used the same two sets (Very Vintage Labels no. 2 and Rescue Remedies Additions) and the same embellishments (except for a different color Prima :-). I still can't decide which one I like better! Yesterday it was the pink one...but today it's the blue one! LOL!
O.k., now I'll show you what I've been up to (organization wise)!
I forgot to take a "before" picture...but trust me, it WASN'T pretty!! This whole shelf was so full (spilling over actually) as well as big stacks on the floor. I know...SOO bad!! Anyway, I grouped most of the paper by manufacturer name and separated them by homemade dividers (more on that in a bit). I have a lot of certain companies paper, so I dedicated a whole holder to them (and for My Mind's Eye...THREE holders LOL).
Within each divider (separated by manufacturer) I organized the paper by collection and/or colors. Because I only had 6 plastic dividers that came with the paper holders (made by Cropper Hopper) and I needed a LOT more (and I'm not patient enough to order some and WAIT for them to arrive), so I made my own! I started with a piece of 4 x 12 cardstock. I then adhered two punched out labels to the top. I used THIS EK Success punch for the labels (which I already had in my punch collection :-).
Here's a picture of the top where I store all of my smaller paper packs. The basket to the right holds all of my Basic Grey paper pads. If you'd like to see more pictures of my stamp room, you can see the page I created for it HERE.
Well, I'm off to pick up my daughter from camp! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! ~Laurie
