Illustrated Faith Photo Album...

Hi friends!  I have a project up over on the Bella Blvd blog, but I wanted to share it here with you as well!  :-)  I'm really excited about this project and hope you like it as well!

 

One project that I have been wanting to create for a while, is this mini album. My husband's family lives in Switzerland and does not get to see our family very often. A lot of the Illustrated Faith stickers are designed to express and capture our faith and walk with God, but I thought they would also work for describing my children's best character traits!

I created a pocket style mini album, choosing photos that I thought really captured my kids' personalities.

Using papers from the Whatever is Lovely collection, as well as some from Bella's Color Chaos and Fresh Market collections, I've created a keepsake that I plan on gifting my in-laws for Christmas!

I used my Silhouette to cut out the album parts (pages, cover, and spine) and then used a very heavy adhesive to assemble it. I made five pockets, one for each of my children.

 

The inserts with photos on them, tuck in to the pocket. I've added a tab (from the Illustrated Faith Fold It and Remember It sticker sheets) on each photo insert page.

I really love how the Illustrated Faith stickers both decorate the album as well as document our family's faith!

 

If you plan on creating something similar, here are a couple of hints that I have found helpful.

 

Even though the Washi Tape and stickers all have adhesive on them, I added extra so that they would not fall off with wear and tear.

I kept the embellishments on the inside of the album to a minimum, with the exception of a large chipboard heart in the middle (placed there for added thickness and stability).

 

I can't wait for this to arrive in Switzerland!

You'd Better Sit Down...

 Are you sitting down?  Because what I'm about to tell you is pretty shocking!  Okay...here it is....

I scrapbooked. And I liked it!

Yes, it's true!  Honestly though, it started with a design team assignment.  Laura (the design team coordinator for Bella Blvd) asked us to create a 12 x 12 page about ourselves in honor of National Scapbook Day!  I won't even tell you about all of the heart palpatations that I had just thinking about it!  But as I started, I found that I really enjoyed it!  It probably took me 100 times longer than a "real" scrapper, but I did it!

 
This project was a little intimidating for me, to be honest! I don't have a lot of experience in scrapbooking (I'm a card maker) and I hardly have any photos of myself! Once I found a photo, it was easy to assemble the products and papers that I wanted to use! Since this was a page about things that I love, I chose the papers and colors that I love the most as well! I used vellum circles so that the white letters would stand out on the white cardstock.

Bella BLVD meets Silhouette Chipboard!

Happy Sunday friends and a very Happy Mother's Day to you!  Today I have a couple of fun projects (and a card) to share with you! 

Silhouette's May Promotion is now in full swing and I had the honor to create some projects using one of their newest products - Silhouette Chipboard! 

One of the projects that I couldn't wait to create using the Silhouette Chipboard was a gift container! The heavier weight lends itself nicely to holding heavier gifts! I started by cutting out the Fruit Basket shape using my Cameo, assembling it, and then adding some white wash paint over it. I decorated it with a strip of Bella patterned paper, Ciao Chip, and a Button Market button!

The shape file that I used is called 3-D Bushel Fruit Basket. 

Here's a peek at the tag that I included with the basket.  I will be giving this to my three boys' bus driver.  :-)

For my next project I created a little Baby mini album! I cut out album pages using my Silhouette Cameo and some Silhouette Chipboard. I then cut some Baby Boy pages using the same cut files. Both the front and back have different patterns (all from the Bella Baby Boy collection). I decorated the front of the Album using some coordinating Baby Boy Ciao Chip pieces, Alpha+Bits Stickers, a couple of Saltwater Feathers, and a Star Button.

The name of the cut file that I used for this album is called 3 Tabbed Mini Album.

I love adding both dimension and texture to my cards, so the idea of being able to create my own custom chipboard pieces really appealed to me! I used my Silhouette Cameo, Silhouette Chipboard, and various Bella patterned papers to cut out the tree and heart shapes for my card. For embellishments, I added a Miniature Card Sentiment and two Button Market buttons!

The names of the cut files that I used for this card are Echo Park Tree and Hearts Set.

Engaged At Last Mini Album...

 

Good morning!  The inspiration continues over at the Bella BLVD blog!  You can see all new projects, cards, & layouts using the brand new CHA releases!  Today, I'm sharing the  mini album I created using Bella BLVD's brand new Engaged At Last collection!

Since all of my photos are old (as in the days before digital), I used some photos from a friend.  I am very new to "scrapbooking" but I really love how this turned out!  And those crochet hearts...yeah, that is going to be a new addiction!

New flags to go with this collection...yay!!  As you can see, I used an accordion style binding to hold these pages together.

I love how this collection has both feminine and masculine papers/embellishments! 

I think chipboard adds so much to a project, don't you?

 

 

 

I left some room for the bride to be to record some of her favorite moments from the planning and bachelorette party!

Hands down, my favorite papers from this collection are these two large chevron papers!!  I LOVE them!!

I included a photo of their honeymoon destination...it looks so pretty, doesn't it?

Engaged At Last Sneak Peek...

Hi friends!  Even though my blog has been quiet, I have been super busy in my stamp room!  I have SO much to share with you over the next few weeks!  Yay!  :-)

Have you all seen the peeks at the new collections over at the Bella BLVD blog?  Oh my, these collections are delicious!!  Just wait until you see the new embellishments that go with them!!!  The most luscious Feathers and Crochet Hearts (in all the best Bella colors) are just a few of my favorites!

Today, they are highlighting the new Engaged At Last collection!  Here are a few peeks of what I created with it...

This first photo is a little snippet of a card.  Do you see that pretty pink Crochet Heart there on the left?  Swoon...

Here's another peek of a card!  This collection covers it all...even the Bachelor and Bachelorette parties!!

Okay, hold on to your seats because you are not going to believe what I'm about to tell you!  I made a mini album!  With pictures!  Like scrapbooking!  You know what else?  I really, really enjoyed it!

I'm still in shock.  I mean...I scrapbooked!  Well, to be honest...these papers and embellishments made is SO easy!

Here's another peek of a different page in the mini album.  Yeah, I had to sneak some vellum in there.  I had to...it was calling my name!  LOL!
